Noriko Yamamoto

Noriko Yamamoto is a Japanese American painter whose work balances Eastern and Western artistic traditions. Working in California during the 1960s and 1970s, her work puts an Eastern spin on Minimalism and Abstract Expressionism. This piece comes from her horizon series in which she graphically abstracts light crossing the horizon with vibrant asynchronous color and bending forms.
